This is a painful inflammation and swelling of the cornea that happens when bacteria or fungi enters the cornea, or by trauma, chemical exposure or thermal injury. If not treated immediately, it can result in vision impairment. Contact lens wearers should be very wary of this as most corneal infections are caused by improper use and care of contact lenses. |
